Ottaway Amusements – Website Project

In July of 2016, Ottaway Amusements rolled out their new website at

Their event-driven website features an ultra-modern event hero on their home page with custom-built html5 event banner rotations.

One challenge that I was excited to overcome was to give the client the ability to simply add events in the back-end in a way that would automatically display the latest events in the home page’s hero that uses html5 to render the event info. Some of this functionality was pre-built in the template but it did not display some of the event details such as event start and end details.

Instead of using the Contact Form 7 form builder, I used Wufoo instead. I don’t like adding third party functionality but in this case, Wufoo offers my client a very simple way of reviewing archived submissions. Another bonus is that Wufoo’s administrative interface is fool-proof. Setting up fields and notifiers are a breeze. Wufoo is also free with a limit of three forms – perfect for this use-case.

I was also commissioned to photograph their wonderful amusement park. Having the ability to provide professional photography in-house comes in handy for my web projects and helps keep the ball rolling.
